Cristi McMurdie has consistently provided exceptional representation for her clients since 1995. Cristi is the President and sole partner of the Tempe-based McMurdie Law & Mediation. The major focus of McMurdie Law is to provide expert conflict resolution, mediation, collaborative representation, full representation and limited scope representation for your family law cases.
Cristi McMurdie continues to sharpen and deepen skills related to all certifications. In January 2019 Cristi attended Advanced Collaborative Law training, and in March 2019 she attended Advanced Mediation training with renowned mediation trainer, Chip Rose.

Sustaining and preserving family relationships after divorce, relocation or modifications is a high value at McMurdie Law and her Adler School of Professional Coaching training helps clients at this crucial time in their lives. Cristi McMurdie’s conservative approach to clients’ legal needs entails reviewing options that may include negotiation and mediation if possible. Opportunities for resolution outside of court can occur at many stages of your case, and Cristi believes it is her duty to know when those opportunities are and present them to you.
Training: Cristi McMurdie graduated from Arizona State University College of Law in 1992, passing the Arizona Attorney bar examination with her peers. After practicing insurance defense for three years, Ms. McMurdie began her own family law practice. Ms. McMurdie was drawn to mediation as a way for families to navigate through the legal system, reaching the same result with less strife, conserving costs, and often preserving co-parenting relationships. Ms. McMurdie attends annual mediation trainings to stay current, in addition to continuing legal courses that are required by the Arizona Bar of Attorneys.
Once trained in mediation in 1997, McMurdie Law initially offered mediation by subsidiary A1Mediation Services. In 2014, A1Mediation Services was renamed to WHYmediate Mediation Services and now simply McMurdie Law & Mediation. After Cristi received Collaborative training in 2015, she becaome the founder of Collabortive Professionals of Phoenix, professionals providing collabortive representation to divorcing couples and familes. Cristi McMurdie has been a consistent member of the Arizona Bar since 1993, a member of the local mediators group – Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators (MCAFM) since 1997, and is a certified business and life coach by the Adler School of Professional Coaching(2004), Marcia Weider’s Dream University for individuals and Groups(2006), and since 2014, a WHYCoach.
Cristi McMurdie is a member of professional associations, including Arizona Business Council, as the chair of Legal Special Interest Group. She is also a member of Eliances, a group of more than 800+ talented local entrepreneurs that share knowledge and business ideas.
Community: Cristi McMurdie is an active member of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce and Alumni of the prestigious Tempe Leadership Program Class 33, and has built a referral based practice in the areas of law, mediation, and coaching. Learn more about Cristi’s additional skill sets.
Family: Cristi McMurdie’s adult sons are thriving in life and living with their wives in San Francisco and Seattle after they obtained their PhDs from Stanford and University of Washington.
